The 3000 square foot main lodge is the perfect place for a meeting, reunion, wedding rehearsal or reception year round.
There’s a large common space, a barrier-free lavatory, full bath and commercial kitchen. The inside porch comfortably seats 75 guests while the outside deck seats 100. Some families have used both and opened the windows so they could talk to each other.

The Deck
We were sad when the 250 year old oak next to the lodge took a dive and took our first deck with it, but it gave us the chance to build the 65’ long covered and shaded deck that is there now. You can enjoy cocktails lounging on the comfy furniture and watch the sunset over the lake, or have us rearrange and invite 100+ friends for sit-down dinner using our tables, chairs and linens. And yes, the glass topped tree trunk is that old oak. You can pull up a couple of bar stools and share an intimate dinner, as several wedding couples have done, or challenge your friends to count the rings over drinks.

The pool table converts to a buffet for strolling dinners and the whisky barrels work nicely as cocktail tables. There is plenty of room to mingle inside and out.
The carpets roll up for dancing to the built-in audio system. Hook up your play list to the wi-fi and you are ready to rock n’ roll. Just keep the sound inside and the windows closed.
If your event requires serious business-type presentations, we have a large monitor or a good old-fashioned projector screen. We’ll even scrounge up a flip chart if you need one.
The well equipped commercial quality kitchen provides the perfect prep place for a caterer, whether for a meal inside the lodge itself or a tent reception on the north lawn. It also works for families who like to pitch in and cook their own meals. Don’t worry about cooking tools and appliances, we love to cook so we have everything, just bring the food.
We dress up for Christmas but other than that, the decor is rustic and mostly furnished with items from the Muhleman family farm in southeast Ohio. We are musicians so you’ll find a piano and organ and various percussion instruments. Most of the deer, ducks and fish on the wall are contributions from hunters on the property. They are too delicate and heavy to move, so please don’t ask.

Rent a tent
If you have more than 100 guests (and less than our maximum of 150), and are worried about the weather, you may want to rent a tent. We don’t provide tents but we can provide rental company recommendations. The north lawn is the perfect location for a 40’ x 80’ tent which is the most common size. That frees up the deck for your cocktail hour.
The grilling station
Burgers, dogs, fish, ribs, whatever your taste buds crave can be conveniently cooked on the grills to the south of the lodge. We have a 24×36 grill and an offset firebox smoker that will handle 8 full slabs of ribs or 4 big butts. The plan is for a full outdoor kitchen with a gas grill, but until it’s done, charcoal works just fine. Skip the lighter fluid, we are charcoal snobs so we provide starter chimneys. (We’ll show you how to use them if you haven’t.) Do please bring your own charcoal and don’t put the hot chimney on the concrete.
Wedding dining tables
We’d be happy to rent just the lodge for a meeting, holiday, family gathering, birthday party, or really, any kind of gathering, if it’s available. Availability is scarce for single-day lodge rentals during June, July, and August, though there are a few weekdays here and there. September through May there are lots of options.
